Eight short stories by Cekhov form the basis of Csaba Kiss‘ play
which all merge into one single text in an interesting context with precise
dramaturgy. The genre of text infused with grotesque humor and various comical
scenes is: male-fairy tale. Various stories of three troupers are intervined
and add various pieces to the puzzle like appearance of a mysterious woman,
Irina Bikulina. Flight of women and romantic love, lewdness and death defying
loyalty – only so many contradictory brush strokes paint the picture of this
make-believe woman, but the question of what exactly happened to her, remains
open until the end.
