Our company’s director, István Albu, was awarded the Lucian Pintilie Prize for Best Directing for staging Richard III at the Harag György Company of the Northern Theatre in Satu Mare.

On Monday, May 26, the Romanian National Theatre Association organized the awards gala for the 33rd time, celebrating the work of the country’s finest artists. One of the most prestigious awards in Romanian theatre was granted to István Albu by a jury of five members. The Romanian Hungarian theatre community was also well represented at the event. We congratulate our colleagues on their nominations: Erika Márton, Csongor Zsolt Nagy, and Tibor Pálffy, as well as the Harag György Company of the Northern Theatre in Satu Mare for winning the Best Performance award (Richard III, adapted by Miklós H. Vecsei), and the Tamási Áron Theatre in Sfântu Gheorghe together with Sándor Baumgartner for their recognition in the light design category.

UNITER was founded in 1990 with the main goal of representing the theatre profession in the country, as well as preserving and protecting cultural heritage. One of its founding purposes was to create a space where artists could freely express their ideas and artistic aspirations.
