The company presents the first published fairy tale novel by
Ervin Lázár, The Little Boy and the Lions, directed by Gábor Kolozsi Borsos. The
initial Figura company first staged the production for children and families in
1991, and László Bocsárdi was the director of the production.
The company has a well-established tradition of actors
changing their profession for the duration of a rehearsal, trying their hand at
directing, costume design or even composing music behind the scenes. Gábor
Kolozsi Borsos has already staged a production with members of the Szín-kron
student theatre group, but this is his first time in the director's chair of
Figura, directing Szigfrid Bruckner and friends. He will be assisted by Ákos
Páll-Gecse as assistant, Helga Balázs as dramaturg, Kató Huszár as set and
costume designer and Lehel-András Barti, the company's actor, will be trying
his hand at composing music. In December, the audience of Gheorgheni is
scheduled to see the performance of the very old lion and the little boy, which
tells about friendship and circus stories.
This season, the Gheorgheni Theatre, which is celebrating
its 40th anniversary, is revisiting and reimagining some of the titles and
works it has been performing since its beginnings. This is how the second
premiere of the season ended up being a production of the same title based on
Sławomir Mrożek's absurdist short story House on the Border, directed by Attila
Keresztes.
