This season will include six premieres, ten stage productions on schedule, the seventh iteration of the dance.movement.theater festival for dance and movement theater and several guest productions. The season ticket advertising will aim at the younger generation, Figura Studio Theatre guarantees different production packages for those wanting Children and Adolescent season tickets.

The season opening will take place on the 6th of September (Thursday) at 7:00 P.M. with the premiere of Three Sisters. Chekhov’s classic piece will be directed by István Albu the governing manager of Figura Studio Theater.

One of the season’s highlights will be the dance.movement.theater festival between the 16th and 21st of October. The festival’s program will include domestic and international productions and the accompanying acts will include concerts, workshops, book launches és audience-artist meet ups.

The second premiere will be directed by Botond Nagy, who after Sandmonster and Pushkin’s Onegin, will direct adopt Tennessee Williams’ A streetcar name Desire to Figura’s troupe.

The next premiere will be the New Year’s Eve production: The Lieutenant of Inishmore written by Martin McDonagh and directed by István Albu. Point of interest regarding the production that it is a co-production with the band No Sugar from Gyergyószentmiklós.

2019 will be kicked off by yet another co-production: Abigail’s party by Mike Leigh, directed by Árpád Barabás, co-produced by Figura Studio Theater, Sándor Tomcsa Theater from Székelyudvarhely and Csíki Játékszín from Csíkszereda in January. Barabás is a former member of Figura Studio Theater and directed such productions as Merlin Muro and Knives in hens.

Next up is the premiere of Smoke by Gábor Goda, the director of Artus Contemporary Art Studio at Budapest. This is Goda’s second work with the Figura troupe after 2012’s Arany-légy.

The 2018/2019 season’s last premiere is aimed at the youngest generation: Ervin Lázár’s fable The Four-Square Round Forest directed by Dávid A. Péter. Dávid A. debuted in the previous season with the classroom production entitled S-elected, but he acts in a number of productions at Gyergyószentmiklós.

Besides the premiere the previous season’s most prominent productions remain on schedule. Productions like Phaedra (directed by István Albu), A Stormy Night (directed by István Albu), Cold (directed by Leta Popescu), Drug diary (directed by Zénó Faragó), The Only One (director-choreographer: Csaba Györfi), Stones in His Pockets (directed by László Csuja), Our Forests Haven't Been This Wild In Forever (directed by Bálint Botos) and S-elected (directed by Péter Dávid A.).

The season will be complimented by a number of festival appearances. During September and October will take part in dráMa Festival at Székelyudvarhely, also at the Interethnic Theater Festival (IFESZT), then at the International Theater Festival organized by the Youth Theater of Karácsonkő, and finally at the Tranzit Fest organized by the Northern Theater of Szatmárnémeti.

According to the previous seasons the 2018/2019 one will also include a number of guest productions. Among these will be the production of the Miklós Tompa Company from the National Theater of Târgu-Mureș, as well the production of the György Harag Company from the Northern Theater of Satu Mare and also the production of the Sándor Tomcsa Theatre of Székelyudvarhely.
